“Platform drives 20% reduction in customer acquisition costs (CAC) for 3,715 merchants like The Frankie Shop, Doên, and RIPNDIP across 45 countries; Company plans US market expansion”
Today, we’re overjoyed to announce that we’ve raised $18M in Series A funding! Chalfen Ventures led the round, including participation from our existing investors, Point Nine and Frst.
Polar now supports over 3,715 merchants across 45 countries, including The Frankie Shop, Doên, Allbirds Korea, and RIPNDIP. Our customers see a significant impact: a 30% increase in email flow revenue and a 20% reduction in customer acquisition costs within just the first month of use.
Robin Caillaud, CMO at The Frankie Shop, shares:
“Since using Polar over 2 years ago, I’ve been impressed by the team’s velocity and customer obsession.
New features are added weekly, and we have therefore taken strategic decisions and managed to grow our brand rapidly with strong unit economics.”
Mike Chalfen, General Partner at Chalfen Ventures, shares:
“I love businesses that provide novel value fast to previously underserved users in huge markets. Polar has all that and is so easy to use that it is used by many different people in its customers - gone are the days of point analytics products used by a single data nerd.
David and Charbel combine incredibly fast learning and excellent operational discipline to run Polar exceptionally well, and I am excited to lead this series A round.”
Since our inception three years ago, we have been fixated on helping democratize the data stack that e-commerce giants like Amazon use.
Our goal? To unlock growth for millions of retailers globally, regardless of where they sell—online, in-store, or through marketplaces.
We strive to give brands that create the best products a fight against larger incumbents. We’re passionate about making retail a fair playing field—empowering the "David" brands to triumph over "Goliaths."
Our team has also grown; we’re now over 40 people across North America and Europe. But most importantly, our customers are delighted. Polar now has over 100+ 5-star reviews in the Shopify app store and strong retention— with an average of 10 users per account.
If you’re using Shopify and want to see how Polar can help you unlock your brand’s full potential, you can start a free trial.
Looking to the future, the Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) movement started by the Apple Safari team will make getting data for marketing optimization increasingly harder. We’re bullish on continuing to enable brands to collect first-party data in a simple way that doesn't require a full engineering team so they can unlock their full potential.
With this funding, bringing our total to $28.5 million, we’re focusing on:
- Going full speed ahead to help more merchants: We’re scaling our marketing efforts to reach more brands using Shopify.
- Growing the team: We’re looking to grow our team to more than 100 by the end of 2025. We'll focus on scaling our product team in Europe and our go-to-market teams in the United States, where most of our merchants are located.
- Collecting and leveraging first-party data for revenue growth: We’re building a suite of revenue-boosting features to help merchants further decrease acquisition costs and increase contribution margin.
This is just the beginning. At Polar, we envision becoming the ultimate source of truth for strategic decision-making across Marketing, Operations, and Finance—empowering brands to focus on what truly matters: their products.
