The problem

Klaviyo is missing up to 70% of abandoners

Send missed abandonment events into Klaviyo

To maintain the integrity of your flows, we will not modify existing events and instead create new ones with unique names. The Pixel is compliant with Shopify privacy settings.

Estimated time: 30 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

From set up to more revenue in four easy steps.

What is the Polar Klaviyo Enricher?

The Polar Klaviyo Enricher is a solution that augments your Klaviyo email flows by capturing shopper events that Klaviyo’s standard tracking misses (especially anonymous or logged-out users who abandon browsing or carts). It uses the Polar Pixel – a first-party Shopify App Pixel – to track up to ~70% more abandonment events that would otherwise go unrecorded by Klaviyo’s cookie-based tracking. These extra captured events are sent to your Klaviyo flows (e.g. abandoned cart, browse abandonment emails), enabling you to re-engage those shoppers and drive more revenue from your email marketing.

How does it differ from Klaviyo Extended ID?

Polar’s Klaviyo Enricher goes beyond Klaviyo’s Extended ID in several key ways:

• Tracking Window & Method: Klaviyo Extended ID extends cookie tracking from 7 days to up to 1 year using only known identifiers already in a Klaviyo profile (e.g. a subscriber’s email). In contrast, Polar’s Enricher combines deterministic identifiers and probabilistic “cookieless” fingerprinting. This means it can recognize visitors using device/browser attributes even when cookies are absent or blocked, rather than relying solely on an extended cookie.

• Cross-Device Identification: Extended ID is limited to recognizing known users returning on the same device/domain within that extended cookie window. It does not stitch identities across different devices or domains. Polar’s solution enables cross-device and cross-domain tracking by building a first-party identity graph – it links user sessions across multiple devices and sessions, so the same customer can be identified whether they’re on mobile or desktop, or coming back after longer periods.

• Resistance to Blockers: Extended ID still relies on browser cookies and Klaviyo’s client-side script, which can be impacted by ITP, ad blockers, or incognito mode. Polar Klaviyo Enricher uses first-party domain proxying and server-side event forwarding, making its tracking scripts appear as part of your own website. This first-party approach significantly improves its ability to bypass common cookie/ad blockers and privacy restrictions that would stop a third-party pixel.

Does it comply with privacy regulations?

Yes. Polar Klaviyo Enricher is built with privacy compliance in mind. The Polar Pixel operates as a Shopify App Pixel, which means it honors Shopify’s customer privacy settings and consent framework. This ensures that it only tracks and sends data for users who have opted in. Klaviyo will only send emails to customers who have given proper marketing consent, so no emails are sent to shoppers who haven’t opted in to receive them. In short, the enricher respects all opt-in/opt-out preferences and keeps you compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations by design.

How does it handle cross-device tracking?

Polar’s solution creates a unified identity for each shopper across devices and sessions. It builds a first-party identity graph that links a user’s interactions from different devices, browsers, or even domains . For example, if a customer browses on their phone and later on their laptop, Polar’s identity resolution can recognize they are the same person (using identifiers like email or fingerprinted device attributes). This means a user who adds to cart on one device and later returns on another can still be identified and retargeted in Klaviyo flows seamlessly. By stitching together cross-device activity, the Klaviyo Enricher ensures your flows follow the customer journey, regardless of where it continues.

Can it work without cookies?

Absolutely. Polar Klaviyo Enricher is designed to work even if cookies are absent or short-lived. Whereas Klaviyo’s normal tracking cookie might expire after 7 days (due to browser privacy updates) and stop recognizing a user, Polar’s system does not rely solely on cookies. It generates a persistent identifier for each visitor (with the user’s consent) and leverages cookieless tracking techniques so that even when browser cookies expire or are blocked, the visitor’s activity can still be linked to their profile. Because Polar uses first-party/server-side tracking, the data collection continues reliably even under strict browser conditions like ITP, Safari’s 7-day limit, or incognito mode. In short, it can identify shoppers and track events even when traditional cookies fail, by using alternative first-party methods.

How does it improve abandoned cart recovery?

In summary, by feeding Klaviyo the missing abandonment signals, Polar helps convert more abandoners into buyers via follow-up emails.

Due to cookie restrictions, Klaviyo by itself can miss up to 60–70% of cart abandoners (for example, if a visitor isn’t logged in or returns after the 7-day cookie window, Klaviyo might not recognize them). Polar Klaviyo Enricher fixes this gap: it tracks those “invisible” abandonment events through its persistent first-party pixel and sends them into Klaviyo as new, identifiable events. This means many more abandoning shoppers get follow-up emails that they normally wouldn’t receive. As a result, your abandonment recovery flows target a much larger portion of would-be customers, leading to significantly higher recovered revenue. For instance, some brands have seen over a 50% increase in recovered cart revenue after enabling Polar’s enrichment, thanks to the additional abandoners being emailed.

What results can be expected within 30 days?

Merchants typically see substantial uplifts in their Klaviyo flow performance within the first month of using Polar’s Enricher. On average, brands can expect around a 20% increase in revenue from their abandonment email flows in the first 30 days.

Broken down by flow type, Polar’s internal data shows meaningful improvements such as roughly a 10–15% lift in browse abandonment flow revenue, about a 50% lift in cart abandonment flow revenue, and around a 15% lift in checkout abandonment flow revenue in that initial period. Real-world case studies support these figures – for example, one Shopify brand increased its browse abandonment email revenue by 54% in just 28 days using the enriched flows, and another saw about 55% more cart abandonment revenue after a month. While exact results vary by store, it’s clear that the Polar Klaviyo Enricher can deliver significant incremental revenue quickly.

Is it available for all locations?

Yes – the Polar Klaviyo Enricher works for stores and customers in all locations. It is not limited to the US or any specific country. Because it leverages Shopify’s App Pixel framework, it adheres to Shopify’s global privacy and consent standards, functioning wherever your Shopify store operates. So whether your customers are in Europe, North America, Asia, or anywhere else, you can use the enricher without any region-based restrictions. The system will comply with the relevant data laws (GDPR, etc.) through Shopify’s consent management, ensuring global compatibility.

How does it handle ad blockers and tracking limitations?

Polar’s tracking is designed to be resilient against ad blockers and browser privacy limitations. Unlike Klaviyo’s standard third-party script (which can be easily flagged or blocked by browsers and extensions), the Polar Klaviyo Enricher uses first-party tracking methods that make its activity look like part of your own website. The Polar Pixel script is served from your domain (or via Shopify) and key events are forwarded server-side, so from the browser’s perspective it isn’t a third-party tracker.

This approach allows it to bypass common ad-blockers, cookie blockers, and ITP restrictions that normally cripple tracking. In practical terms, even if a visitor has an ad-blocker or is using a browser that limits third-party cookies (like Safari’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention), Polar can still collect the visit and abandonment data. By relying on first-party cookies and a backend identity graph, it avoids the 7-day expiration issue and retains visibility into user actions.
